CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THE MONOGRAPH ISSUE INK CARTOGRAPHIES: WOMEN WRITERS AND LANDSCAPES

2024-11-26

This special issue, entitled "Cartographies of Ink: Women Writers and Landscapes", aims to explore the intersection between geography, literature and the representation of landscape through the works of various women writers. In this context, geography reveals itself as a powerful analytical tool, transcending its traditional focus on the physical study of the earth to become a key means of unraveling the literary landscapes created by the authors. The coordinator of the special issue is Mercedes Arriaga.

The central purpose of this special issue is to establish an enriching dialogue between geography and literature, highlighting the authors' ability to map not only physical landscapes, but also those of an emotional and symbolic nature.

The contributions show an understanding of the intrinsic link between the written words and the geographical spaces that inspired the literary productions of women writers.

Some thematic axes may be:

  • Analyze the places traveled by women, clarifying the type of relationships that existed between specific people and places.
  • Representation of physical and symbolic spaces in women writers.
  • Literary spaces, imaginary creations, and fictionalizations.
