The Spanish neorealist narrative, except that of Ignacio Aldecoa, had little presence on Francoist televisión. Carmen Martín Gaite always maintained an oscillating attitude in her assessment of the television, but her texts were recreated by RTVE during the Franco regime in response to the need to open new paths in those TVE programs that were increasingly routine, such as the first channel’s Novela, or in those others that sought to accommodate the most recent writers. But they were also used by the producers of the television channel to show te fissures of the national-Catholic discourse and to build a more innovative televisual narrative. The broadcast of Entre visillos and El balneario in 1974 is an example of this.
