Abstract

The chronicle reviews May 21, 2010, when the Real Sociedad Menéndez Pelayo's Humanistic Research Award was given to Imágenes de la ciudad: Poesía y cine, de Whitman a Lorca, by Darío Villanueva Prieto at the Magdalena Palace in Santander . The text highlights four important aspects of the session: the outstanding work, which has interdisciplinary and international characteristics; the author, whose personal and professional career is extensive and remarkable; the award-winning lesson, which revealed his wisdom and erudition on various topics, not only literary, but also technological; and the circumstances in which the prize was awarded.
