Abstract

Anthony Close studied and worked at the University of Cambridge, where he graduated in French and Spanish and, from then on, adding other studies, he specialized in Cervantes and his Quixote. In his adulthood, he headed the Spanish and Portuguese Departments at Cambridge University until his professional career ended. About Cervantes he wrote books, articles, essays (even collaborating in this magazine in years before his death). He is remembered in this necrology for his relevant contributions to the studies of Cervantes.
