Francisco López Estrada was a professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, a philologist specializing in medieval and Renaissance literature in Spain. He published in various Spanish universities articles and essays on ancient Spanish literature. He is remembered as a professor and liberal person and his interest in bucolic poetry and literature is remarkable. However, he also investigated other cultural issues, such as the famous works of Thomas More and Erasmus of Rotterdam and their impact on Spain.
