Abstract

On the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the death of Menéndez Pelayo, the Humanistic Research Award 2010 was presented to researchers: Manuel Garrido Jiménez (Spain), Nelson Robert Orringer (USA), D. Luis Manuel Valdés Villanueva (Spain) and Margarita María Valdés-Villarreal (Mexico), for the coordination of the collective work Spanish and Hispanic American Philosophical Legacy of the 20th Century. In all cases, the awarded work is a valuable synthetic contribution in one of the fields of philosophical research that has experienced a more significant development in the first decade of the new century: the recent history of Spanish philosophical thought. The researchers honoured with this award are also endorsed for their academic excellence and for their valuable contributions in the field of contemporary Hispanic philosophy or history.
