Abstract

This article summarizes the award ceremony for the Humanistic Research Award to the Hispanist Richard L. Kagan in 2012, coinciding with the first centenary of the death of Menéndez Pelayo himself. He is a relevant author for current Hispanism due to his interest in publishing studies and research on the political and cultural history and literature of Spain, specifically, the Spanish Golden Age (Siglo de Oro).
