Chronicle of a centenary

Abstract

In 2012 it was the centenary of the death of Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo, for which the Real Sociedad Menéndez Pelayo held an act in his honor. Various publications and activities were carried out to make his figure, his work and his works better known. To commemorate this important date, speeches were also given and the Humanistic Research Award was presented to Richard L. Kagan. The most important events include the Menéndez Pelayo International Congress, which was made up of round tables and presentations by scholars; courses and conferences on Menéndez Pelayo and Catalan culture; presentations in the rest of Spain and America, also in the National Library and, as a result of all these acts and the centenary, very important publications arose.
