On the occasion of the 4th centenary of the birth of Miguel de Cervantes, the Menéndez Pelayo's Library Bulletin compiles several studies on the author of Don Quixote, emulating the great interest shown by Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo himself. Through the articles collected in this bulletin, writers from various countries analyze different aspects of the masterpiece of Spanish literature: the influence of chivalric books, the historical and geographical space of the novel, the stories interspersed in it, the fusion of cultures and religions and their references to the reality of the moment, the possible interpretations of hidden meanings, the reception of Don Quixote in other countries, the problems of reliable translation, the second part of Avellaneda, Don Quixote in the cinema and the irony and humor that are so characteristic of the author.
