Abstract

The document presents part of the correspondence between Menéndez Pelayo and Víctor Said Armesto. Said was the first professor in Spain of Galician-Portuguese literature, as well as journalist, folklorist, philologist, philosopher and literate. His friendship with the Cantabrian polygraph was permanent. There are two topics that are dealt with in the letters: the first is a specific consultation of Said a Pelayo to enrich his memory project of chairs of secondary education in Spanish Language and Literature; the second, refers to the chair of Galician Literaturewhich Said agreed to in opposition in 1914.
