This article begins with a list of film adaptations that have been made or are intended to be made of Don Quixote, both in Spain and in other countries. The common thread is the opinion of Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón, Cantabrian film director, who affirms that cinema and literature are too similar and that is precisely why adaptations are difficult. In his series on Don Quixote, the humor, naturalness and closeness of the characters stand out, since he himself feels close to Cervantes. This adaptation is quite faithful to the comic essence of the book, with puns in humorous moments, and very faithful recreation of scenes, landscapes and characters. This article reviews the quality and fidelity of this film director to bring Don Quixote, Sancho Panza and his entire Cervantine universe to the screen.
