Abstract

On December 24, 2012, Don José Simón Díaz died in Madrid, at the age of 92. He was a professor, librarian, academic, committee member, expert, advisor, editor, president, member, director and founder of cultural institutions. From 1956 he devoted himself to the Course of the discipline of Hispanic Bibliography in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the Complutense University. In 1969, as a professor, he was named Scientific Researcher by merit contest, supernumerary since 1970 and, in 1984, he was awarded the International Prize "Nicolás Antonio" of the Center for Hispanic Studies of the Syracuse University, in New York.
