Abstract

This review highlights the critical edition of Juan Ruiz de Alarcón's comedy, La verdad sospechosa (The Suspicious Truth), by José Montero Reguera. It is analytical and clear despite the fact that it is not aimed at a specialized audience. After the commentary on the comedy, a study of its author and his theater in general is included, in which the most relevant characteristics of his biography and works are discussed. In short, it is a very complete and well-documented edition that serves to get to know the figure of Alarcón and to enjoy his comedy.
