Abstract

This article reviews the book on Galdós by the specialist José Ramón Saiz Viadero, who wrote a biography of the Canarian writer on the occasion of his centenary in 2020. Viadero recounts his life, personality and vast literary body, recovering journalistic articles. He first talks about Galdós's attraction to Santander and, after his death, he discusses the financial issue of the well-known Finca de San Quintín, where he spent the summer. In the last part of the book, the writer's relationship with the cinema and his journalistic hemerography are framed, and his enjoyable reading is praised.
