This obituary pays tribute to the figure of Carlos Bousoño (Boal, Asturias, 1923-Majadahonda, Madrid, 2015). He was a literary theorist, poet, critic and university professor. He showed a deep interest in poetry; hence he devoted himself to Alexandrian poetry. Among the awards he won were: "Príncipe de Asturias", Fastenrath of the Royal Spanish Academy in 1952, two Critics of Castilian poetry awards and the National Essay and Poetry Awards. From 1980 until his death he was a member of the Royal Spanish Academy of Language, where he occupied the seat M. In front of the concept of traditional image or metaphor, Bousoño introduces three new terms, "visionary image", "vision" and "symbol".
