Ana Casas studies in her book the short story as a literary genre and the novel in the post-war period in Spain. The author has rescued more than seven hundred stories from Spanish magazines from that time where they were published, which denotes the great research work and patience that she has developed to compose her analysis. Throughout this, she exposes the important support of the magazines to the short story, a volatile and reviled genre; she analyzes each of the eight magazines from which she has extracted the texts and shows a surprising variety of topics.
