The death in 2007 of an important librarian of the Menéndez Pelayo Library, Manuel Revuelta Sañudo, a friend of the writer himself and chosen for that position by him, is commemorated. This necrology highlights his work, his competent and intellectual attitude to preserve the entire Menéndez Pelayo collection, and his social skills. Thanks to him, the Library was not forgotten in the budgets of local councils. This short article also takes a brief look at his childhood and early priesthood studies, as well as his establishment in Santander from Madrid before studying Philosophy and Letters at the age of forty. Prior to that, he had already published essays about his previous profession and his religion. As an outstanding publication is the Epistolario of Menéndez Pelayo, of several volumes, which helps to better understand the personality and work of the writer.
