As a result of a conference at the UIMP in which Don Marcelino's ideology was censored and the damnatio memoriae was advocated, this chronicle puts on the table some data about the truth. For example, that the university and the institutions of Menéndez Pelayo have always been based on freedom of expression and respect, and that, leaving aside the thoughts of each individual, the university became International thanks to the socialist minister Fernando de los Ríos, due to Don Marcelino's great relevance and positive influence on Spanish culture and criticism. Emphasis is placed on the idea of plurality of thought and on the fact that Don Marcelino's name is maintained in the institutions, as well as his sculptural representations, due to his critical and beneficial impulse for Hispanic culture, without alluding to his ideologies and without imposing that they should follow each other.Downloads
