Abstract

The reviewed book by Dolores Troncoso focuses on the figure of Benito Pérez Galdós as a journalist, correspondent in a Buenos Aires newspaper, La Prensa, considered one of the best of the time in the Hispanic sphere. After the death of the Canarian writer, Alberto Ghiraldo published the author's unpublished works in nine volumes in that same newspaper, although he did so by editing a large part of the articles, suppressing data and restructuring them. It was not until the 1970s that it was discovered that there were original editions of articles by Galdós prior to these. In addition to this, the author of the book reviews Galdós's journalistic work and compares the different stages he went through and all the newspapers and magazines in which he participated.
