The story "Piña" by Emilia Pardo Bazán: between "beasts and sovereigns"

Piña (1890), a short story by Pardo Bazán with autobiographical ingredients, contains a polyhedral ecofeminist and animalistic message about the sovereign's exercise of power and his relationship with the beast. The narratological commentary is the basis for interpreting the narrative functions of the animal character applying the approach around which Jacques Derrida's last courses at the EHESS in Paris (2001-2003) revolved, that is, the philosophical-literary deconstruction of the alternation or identification game of the animal, human or non-human, in relation to the historical concept of sovereignty.
