This text shows an interview with the Mexican writer Jorge Volpi, who is a very important figure in the panorama of current Ibero-American literature. This is due to his literary, critical and analytical contributions to our reality and to the cultural projects he carries out. In the interview, Volpi states that his generation is skeptical and that he has stopped imitating the magical realism of earlier times. He advocates a literature in which the work is valued and the author's place of origin is not taken into account. Regarding his own novels, he affirms that he is not obsessed with finding his own voice, but he recognizes that it has his own style and, then, several of them are reviewed, establishing connections and explaining why. of his creation. The versatile author has also published various reflective essays in which he highlights current issues, especially Latin American identity.
