Abstract

In this article an analysis of the interaction of both historical and individual factors is carried out as key in the novel by Pereda, Pedro Sánchez. The study is divided into two sections that deal respectively with: record the degree of fidelity of the events related to the history of the period 1854-1856, according to the narrator and protagonist homonyms (national episode); and to trace the evolution of this character not only from the particular features of his psyche, but also to the rhythm of the historical events in which he participates (personal episode).
