This text reviews and summarizes a critical edition of El mayor encanto, amor, by Calderón de la Barca, written by Alejandra Ulla Lorenzo. The author has reviewed and collated the original editions and the testimonies of the Calderonian comedy to analyze it. She has kept almost the entire text as it was with respect to the phonology of Spanish from the Golden Age. She always explains all the changes the text went through and provides historical and literary data that surround the comedy. Likewise, she focuses on issues such as intertextuality, common in the Golden Age, when writers referred to the classical past and myths to create new stories. Remarkable are also the metric and stylistic analysis.
