Abstract

This obituary pays tribute to the figure of Jacques De Bruyne. He was professor at the Hoger Instituut voor Vertalers in Tolken (Higher Institute of Translators and Interpreters) in Antwerp. As a professor, he considered his teaching work to be a priority. Thus, in this way, he managed to communicate to his students a basic knowledge of the history of literature and at the same time raise his record in Spanish to a higher level. He organized lecture programmes and produced numerous publications. Finally, the most important contribution of Jacques De Bruyne is undoubtedly his work of grammar.
