Abstract

This obituary pays tribute to Julio Rodríguez Puértolas. This historian turned the binomial History and Fiction into an indissoluble parameter of study. He was influenced by the works of Pérez Galdós, specifically Galdosian humanism. His classes, moreover, reflected his confidence in the regenerative power of education and justice as engines of the modernization of Spain, his permanent chant in favor of freedom, piety for human weaknesses, as well as its vindication of the flow of History as a fundamental source. It has different publications related to the work of Galdós.
