Españoles en París en la época romántica is a book that compiles different true stories of writers, intellectuals and relevant figures from Spain who, for various reasons, were living in Paris in the 19th century. This theme gives rise to the analysis of cultural relations between Spain and France, both their similarities and differences. The author, Jean-René Aymes, talks about all aspects and cultural disciplines and provides the testimonies of those who wrote about their experiences, such as Manuel Godoy, Leandro Fernández de Moratín, Álvaro Flórez Estrada... Despite the magnitude of the data, reading It is not heavy, but rather enjoyable, without this meaning cutting back on information. In each chapter he unravels important issues: the choice of Paris, the type of emigrants, what artistic disciplines each one carried out there, how they felt... It is a book that takes into account all the factors of migration, without leaving the framework of the context history and society of the nineteenth century.
