Abstract

One of the key elements of Carmen Becerra's book reviewed here is the transfer from one art to another; in this case, from theater to cinema, and their subsequent mutual influence, in addition to the narrative nature of cinema. The book points out the differences that exist in each art; each section, written by a different scholar, analyzes several questions: relations between theater and cinema; theater and new technologies; connections between the different theater and film genres; history of theater and censorship; comparisons between dramatic and film adaptations of the same play…
