Abstract

This review focuses on the work of Francisco Javier Díez de Revenga, an acclaimed researcher and historian, who in this publication has chosen to analyze the Generation of 27. The ten chapters in which his contributions are distributed are dedicated to ten representative poets of said group. It is not the first time that this researcher has written about the poets of 1927 and that, together with his hobby and professionalism, make his works excellent monographs worth reading and admiring. Although he analyzes different writers, he always tries to draw the aesthetic line that unites them. For each one he has chosen a subtitle or connotation that informs about what themes he has connected with them. For example, some chapters are called Jorge Guillén, frente a Quevedo; Utopía y paraíso en Vicente Aleixandre, Dámaso Alonso: innovación y revolución, etc. Doctor Díez de Revenga is always aware of the historical-social context of the time and delves into these questions when the artists' poems change style, tone and theme, for which he manages to carry out a wonderful analysis of the Generation and its time.
