Abstract

The review highlights the detailed analysis that David González Couso makes of Caperucita en Manhattan, a novel by Carmen Martín Gaite, who wanted to rewrite a classic story by Perrault. The analysis is divided into three parts and they help to contextualize the book, compare it with other works by Martín Gaite, as well as its narrative techniques: structure, time, narration, poetic reflections, which are also found in other of her books. The third part focuses on interpreting the work and adds an important bibliography. The volume is certainly didactic and fulfills its guiding function.
