Abstract

This book by González Couso is related to the reading guide he wrote on Little Red Riding Hood in Manhattan, also by Carmen Martín Gaite. On this occasion, Couso returns to analyze the space in the narration of this writer, specifically her book El cuarto de atrás. The importance of space in Martín Gaite can be traced back to her undergraduate thesis, where she became interested in space in various works of Galician origin; hence her strong connection with Galicia (her birthplace) and the purpose of this work. Other books by Martín Gaite are mentioned where the Galician space becomes vitally relevant, as well as interviews and statements that she herself has given where she explains this circumstance.
