Abstract

This chronicle includes the activities carried out in the seminar From the stage to the screen: theatre and cinema in Spain, 1990-2016, organized by the Menéndez Pelayo Chair of the UIMP, between 7 and 11 August 2017 at the Paraninfo de la Magdalena. The seminar was organized around three dramas: ¡Ay, Carmela! by Sanchis Sinisterra and the film directed by Carlos Saura in 1990, El chico de la última fila of Mayorga and the particular vision that in 2012 led to the cinema François Ozon and the film Las Furias, directed in 2016 by Miguel del Arco; the comedy El perro del hortelano by Lope de Vega and the film version directed by Pilar Miró in 1996; and the tragedy Bodas de sangre by Lorca and its latest film adaptation, directed by Paula Ortiz in 2015. There were five days dedicated to the close relations between theatre and cinema.
