Abstract

The two editors of this anthology of José Montero Alonso summarize, first, the biography of this writer and journalist to contextualize the reason for this anthology of Spanish prose writers and poets. Likewise, a historical context prior to it is provided in literary and social terms to explain the journey of children's works, since the anthology is based on them. The large number of authors means that the examples of the works are brief and that relevant writers are even missing, but it is still a great compilation of children's works of different literary genres of our literary history. Before each work, the text is contextualized to understand the time. This compendium demonstrates the enormous literary knowledge of Montero Alonso, his interest in Spanish literature and his gifts as a novelist and writer.
