This text reviews the edition of some Galdosian National Episodes by Dolores Troncoso. This edition, which is part of a series of installments, begins with an introduction by Carmen Luna contextualizing the Galdós era, his life, his ideology and the use of characters to give a thread to the story. The collaborators of this book analyze the writer's way of narrating and highlight his characteristic as a historian, who is not carried away by determinism, but by the idea that each person chooses his own destiny. This edition of Troncoso is entertaining, well annotated and contextualized, and can be used by both specialized and non-specialized audiences.
