Abstract

Miguel Ángel Teijeiro Fuentes pays attention to the Golden Age literature of Extremadura, as on other occasions, to analyze the patrons of the Golden Age. He comments on the renowned noble lineages that acted as patrons of art, including family trees, indices and a bibliography. This review summarizes the five chapters mentioning which most outstanding noble families are analyzed in each one: the Zúñiga, the Feria, the Alba, the Vera and the Ulloa. In short, the objective of the book is to show the important relationship between literature and the educated noble class that was in charge of protecting and promoting writing in Extremadura during the Golden Age.
