This book by Ana Vian Herrero is made up of an extensive introduction and the critical edition of Coloquios de la Verdad, written by Pedro de Quiroga. The introductory chapters focus on Quiroga, his historical context, the reasons why Vian Herrero wrote this monograph, and the work itself, Coloquios de la Verdad. The second part is the critical edition of that writing itself. She begins by commenting on other critical editions of the work and saying that she will try to provide more information about Quiroga and his book. It includes another more extensive biography of him and, later, frames the work in its context, the Peru of the 16th century, with all the literary and social implications that the time entails. She also comments on religion in Latin America, the type of literary genre that Quiroga handled, and critically analyzes the edition that she herself has transcribed from the Coloquios.
