Abstract

During the years of partisan struggle on the Italian peninsula, the mountains became synonymous with Resistance. The partisans who made up the Liberation movement lived and died there, creating a single atmosphere where everything unfolded. Elena Bono, a 20th-century Italian author and participant in the partisan movement, reclaimed the mountainous landscape of the Liguria region in her verses as a key element of rejection of Nazi-fascism and of the memory of resistance. This article aims to analyze the rhetorical and symbolic mechanisms with which the author lyrically intertwines landscape and resistance.
