Esteban Gutiérrez is the translator and editor of Le naturalisme en Espagne, written by Albert Savine. Gutiérrez is in charge of translating, introducing and commenting on the work, which reviews the literary genre of naturalism, how it arose and developed in Spain and its relations with France, its country of origin. Through Savine's original text you can learn a lot of information about the 19th century, about how the authors of that time wrote, etc., but the true deep analysis is obtained thanks to the annotations by Esteban Gutiérrez, who also includes a biography de Savine and a historical and literary context. In general, it is a very well commented work, despite the fact that some helpful indexes are missing, and it demonstrates the great investigative work of its editor.
